Jayden Reed transfers to Michigan State

Ex-WMU receiver Jayden Reed enters the field vs. Syracuse in 2018.

Reed will continue his college football career at Michigan State University, he announced via his twitter account Thursday afternoon.

The news comes a little over a week after Reed announced his plans to transfer from WMU and enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Reed has prior ties with one particular MSU quarterback. He and Payton Thorne were teammates at Naperville Central High School in Illinois.

Originally, the two were set to be teammates again in 2019 at WMU. Thorne had committed to the Broncos as part of their 2019 class, but flipped his commitment to MSU in December of 2018.

Now, instead of being Broncos, the two will be teammates again as Spartans. Reed, however, will have to sit out a season due to the NCAA transfer policy.

Reed finished his career at WMU 56 receptions, 797 yards and eight touchdowns as a freshman.
