WMU Football Treshaun Hayward

Former WMU linebacker Treshaun Hayward has announced he is transferring to the University of Arizona.

Hayward announced his decision via Twitter on Monday:

Hayward was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 after leading the conference with 142 total tackles, adding 10.5 for loss, five sacks and a forced fumble. In 2020, he played through an injury that caused him to wear a brace on his left hand for much of the season to still make 50 tackles, 3.5 for loss, and 0.5 sacks.

In December, Hayward announced he was entering his name into the transfer portal. In his four years at WMU, he totaled 229 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks.

Wide receiver Cam Cooper and tight end Luke Sanders are still in the transfer portal, having also announced their decision to enter the portal in December.
