Western Michigan softball played their final home games on Tuesday splitting a doubleheader versus Oakland at Ebert Field.
With Stefanick (9-8) on the mound, WMU took the first game of the series 15-3. The Broncos recorded 14 hits in the game, Stefanick providing three of them. She tied a career-high bringing in five runs on two home runs on consecutive appearances at the plate. Those dingers would give her her 11th and 12th home-runs of the year, breaking the school record. The previous record of 11 was held by Aspen Williams (2018) and Erin Binkowski (2016).
Oakland had a spotty day on defense, giving up four errors in just five innings. They'd come back with vengeance, holding the Broncos from earning a sweep taking game two, 7-2.
The split moves the WMU's record to 17-24 overall. They'll head to Dekalb, IL on Friday for a three-game weekend series before the Mid-American Conference Tournament begins on May 8.
