At around 7 p.m. on Oct. 27, a student went through a fourth story window at Garneau/Harvey of Valley two after running down the hallway and accidentally crashing through the glass, according to Director of Public Safety Scott Merlo.

According to Merlo, the student made it out okay, though their exact condition is unclear.

According to the DPS Crime Log, the majority of the crimes reported between Oct. 27 - 31 involved larceny, possession of marijuana or minor in possession of alcohol.

Two major events took place this week: Halloween and the football game against Western Michigan University’s rival, Central Michigan University. Despite this, according to Merlo, crime reports did not particularly increase.

“It was slower than usual for us and area law enforcement agencies due to inclement weather and the fact that both [the CMU game and Halloween] fell during the week,” Merlo said.
