Of the ten incidents reported in Western Michigan University's Department of Public Safety Crime Log between Nov. 7 and Nov. 15, three were larcenies and one was a report of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon/Felonious Assault in Eicher Hall.

According to Department of Public Safety Chief Scott Merlo, the altercation involved a resident of Eicher Hall and someone who wasn’t a student.

Merlo said officers were told one of the people involved had a weapon, but that the weapon couldn’t be found and no arrests were made.

“At the time of the investigation, which was immediately following the incident, we did not have probable cause to make an arrest,” Merlo said.
