President of U-Haul, John “JT” Taylor, announced that the moving and storage company is extending 30 days of free self-storage at U-Haul-owned and operated facilities. This is to help college students impacted by the unpredicted schedule changes at their universities.
This offer applies to new customers with a college ID in the United States and Canada. It is limited-time and subject to availability, the press release said. Students can contact the store by phone or in person to take advantage of the offer.
“We don’t know how every student is affected. But we know they are affected,” said Taylor.
Typically, the 30 days free self-storage offer is extended to communities impacted by a natural disaster. This is the first time U-Haul has extended the offer company-wide
“A growing number of schools are evacuating campuses in favor of online instruction due to coronavirus precautions. As a result, U-Haul is prepared for an early spring moving rush,” the press release said.
U-Haul also accepts third-party pay, which allows family members to fund their moving and storage needs. More information about U-Haul storage can be found on the company's website.
