'Stay at Home' order to go into effect at midnight

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued a “Stay at Home, Stay Safe” order today to combat the spread of  COVID-19.

All non-essential travel in the state will ordered to stop, the order goes into effect at midnight. At the time of the order, Michigan currently sits at 1,035 confirmed cases of the disease and  8 deaths.

“It is on all of us to do our part,” Whitmer said during the press conference.

The order follows other states and cities that have issued similar orders.
