WMU WeVote brings the debate to the Bernhard Center with Democratic Debate watch party

After the second Democratic debate, NJ Senator and Presidential candidate Corey Booker speaks to media in the spin room inside of Hockeytown Cafe in Detroit.

As the nation watches the third Democratic debate in Houston, TX, WeVote, a nonpartisan civil engagement organization are making sure WMU students are also tuning in.

WeVote is hosting a debate watch party inside the main lobby of the Bernhard Center, welcome to all students of all political affiliations.

Evan Heiser, Director of WMU Signature hopes the event fosters healthy discussion and greater understanding of the upcoming primary election. 

"It's time to come together as a campus, to be apart of the national conversation as a whole," Heiser said. "It's important that students know Western has a place for students to participate in these kinds of events."

The debate lineup is as follows:

Sen. Kamala Harris (CA)

Sen. Cory Booker (NJ)

Fmr. Vice President Joe Biden

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (MN)

Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT)

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (MA)

Businessman Andrew Yang

The watch party starts at 7 p.m. along with the debate which will air on ABC.
