Tuesday May 25 marked one year since the murder of George Floyd. To commemorate his passing, activists and community members gathered in Bronson Park to speak and stand together to honor him. 181 yellow crosses were distributed, each one representing a Black American that has died since then. These crosses were held up during a planned 9 minutes and 29 seconds of silence, representing the same amount of time that Floyd had a knee on his neck.
