The Western Michigan University women’s tennis team (5-2) made short work of the opposition on Saturday at West Hills Athletic club.
First, the Lady Broncos took care of the visiting Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne Mastodons, 6-1, before they won six games of nine matches in the nightcap, crushing the visiting Valparaiso Crusaders, 7-0.
The evening match only took an hour and a half to complete.
The Brown and Gold have now won five of their last six contests overall. Senior Emily Dudzik won a pair of matches on the day, moving her into sole possession of 25th place on the all-time WMU wins list.
The team will go on the road Wednesday to West Lafayette, Ind., to face the University of Purdue Boilermakers. Another Big-Ten team doesn’t bode well for the Broncos, since the conference accounts for both of the Bronco losses on the year.
The team will return home next weekend for the last two home games until April 17. The Broncos will be on the road after Valentine’s Day for 11 straight contests.
