The Western Michigan University women’s basketball team struggled to put up a fight against the top team in the Mid-American Conference Thursday night, falling to Toledo, 75-42.
Marquisha Harris led the Broncos with 11 points. Aurielle Anderson and Miracle Woods each added ten.
Andola Dortch scored a team-high 15 points for Toledo and Inma Zanoguera recorded a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.
The game got out of hand early as the Rockets built a 44-17 lead going into halftime, and there was nothing the Broncos could do to close the gap in the second period.
The Broncos struggled on offense and ended the night shooting only 30.8 percent from the field. They were out-rebounded by the Rockets 44-27 and outscored in the paint 32-20.
WMU will play its next game Sunday at Ball State. Tipoff is at 2 p.m.
