Schrauben puts on a promising performance

Derek Schrauben, an incoming first-year player for the WMU men’s soccer team, scored twice in the second half to help lead the Vardar-Michigan Soccer Club to a 3-1 win over the Seattle-based Crossfire Premier in the U-17/18 National Championship in Carson, Cali. on July 17, 2010.

Both teams were making their first appearances at Finals Week. Vardar battled back from a 1-0 deficit after surrendering a goal in the 12th minute. Vardar tied the game right before the half with a strike from Peter Jacobson. Schrauben scored two goals in five minutes to wrap up the win.
