WMU gymnastics earns honors in the classroom

Western Michigan was the top university from the state of Michigan, edging out fifth place Michigan State University. The University of Michigan came in 12th, Eastern Michigan University placed 22nd while Central Michigan University came in 45th.
According to Associate Athletic Director, Dennis Corbin, WMU’s spring GPA was the highest ever in a semester by any athletic team in WMU history.
Katlin Abbs, Stacy Kramer, Liz Prouty and Sarah Wright were the top honorees for the Broncos with each earning a 4.0. It was the second year in a row Kramer posted a perfect GPA.
Hannah Brooks almost hit the 4.0 mark, tallying a 3.98. Jenna Breen had a 3.93. Kristine Garbarino and Caroline O’Brien both recorded a 3.74. Lindsey Wienckowski earned a 3.68, Erin Doucey earned had a 3.62 and Tonya Eckert had a 3.52.
In it’s first season under head coach Dave Kuzara, the Broncos finished the 2010 season with its best record since 2006, posting an 8-13 regular season record.
