As of Nov 17, 2012 head coach Bill Cubit was released from the rest of his remaining year of his contract after today’s game versus Eastern Michigan University.
In a press release released Saturday, Kathy Beauregard Western Michigan University’s Director of Athletics said, “I want to thank Coach Cubit for his years of service and recognize the work he and all of his assistants have done over the years in support of our student-athletes.”
“Although this is a time of transition, the expectations of our department remain the same. Our vision and mission is winning division and conference titles and growing our number of postseason bowls. We continue to value student-athlete success academically and expect them to be great citizens in this community,” said Beauregard.
As head coach of WMU Cubit is the fifth most winning coach that WMU’s football program had and served as head coach from 2005-2012. He also served as a previous offensive coordinator from 1997-1999.
WMU is now on a national search for the the 15th head coach of Bronco Football.
