An attempt at eight straight victories was unsuccessful as the Western Michigan University men’s basketball team lost to Ball State Saturday Night in Muncie, Ind., 65-62.
Junior guard David Brown had a chance to tie the game as time expired. He was able to get off a three-point shot but it was off the mark and no foul was called although contact was made by a Ball State defender.
Brown and freshman forward Darius Paul led the team in scoring with 13 apiece. Paul also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for yet another double-double in his first year as a Bronco.
Senior Forward Nate Hutcheson had 12 points for the Broncos to go along with his eight rebounds.
WMU will look to start a new winning steak Wednesday night on the road against Bowling Green.
