The No. 6 Western Michigan Broncos battled the Ohio State Buckeyes to a 1-1 draw Friday night in Columbus, Ohio.
WMU earned an extra point by defeating OSU in a four round shootout.
The Buckeyes scored first in the second period as Tyler Lundy scored at the 5:57 mark.
WMU answered back with Matt Stewart scoring his first career goal, tying the game 1-1. Mike Leone was credited with an assist on the play.
In the shootout, the Broncos earned goals from Leone and Justin Kovacs. Frank Slubowski made 18 saves on the night.
WMU and OSU will play again Saturday in Columbus at 7:05 p.m.
