Lawson agrees to play in Germany

Former Western Michigan University men’s basketball center Donald Lawson has signed a contract to play in Germany next season for Chemnitz.

Chemnitz also signed former Bronco Stane Bufford last season. Bufford has experienced some success, averaging 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds. 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals. He was also named to the Bundesliga Pro A All-Defensive Team.

Lawson averaged 7.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game last season. He was named WMU Defensive Player of the Year. He ranked fourth in the conference in rebounds, second in blocks and second in offensive rebounds per game. He had 47 total blocks last season to tie for third in a single season at WMU and his 104 career blocks ranks fourth all-time.
