Kool named MAC West Player of the Week for 10th time

David Kool is the MAC West Co-Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. On Monday, the Mid-American Conference announced that the Western Michigan University senior would share the honor with Ball State University’s Jarrod Jones.

This is the third time this season and the 10th in his career that Kool has been honored with the award.

Kool also became the all-time career leading scorer in WMU history with a total of 1,828 points. Kool broke the 46 –year-old record previously held by Manny Newsome in front of 3,041 hometown fans. His 1,828 points also places him 19th all-time in MAC history.

Against Kent State University on Saturday, Kool had the best game of any MAC player with a career-high 38 points after finishing 12-for-23 from the field and 12-for-12 from the free throw line.
