Hiller invited to play in national all-star game

Senior quarterback Tim Hiller has been invited to play in the 2010 Texas vs. The Nation Challenge all-star game.

The game pits players who played in or are from the state of Texas against top-rated college football seniors throughout the country. Seniors must be rated in the top 15 by the NFL in their position to be eligile for the game.

Entering the season, Hiller was named the No. 6 best senior quarterback by NFL.com and he averaged 270.8 yards per game this season and threw 23 touchdowns in 2009.

Current Florida Atlantic University and former University of Miami head coach Howard Schnellenberger will be the head coach for The Nation team. Schnellenberger coached the Hurricanes to the 1983 National Championship.

Texas will be coached by former Dallas Cowboys safety Bill Bates.

The Texas vs. The Nation game takes place on Feb. 6, 2010 at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas and will be televised by the CBS College Sports network.
