On Tuesday, the Mid-American Conference named Western Michigan University sophomore Miame Giden honorable mention All-MAC following the conclusion of the 2009-10 women’s basketball season.

This is the second straight season that Giden has earned a post-season award.  At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season, Giden was named to the MAC All-Freshman team.

For the second year in a row, Giden has led the Lady Broncos in scoring, ending the regular season ranked 10th in the MAC with 14.4 points per game.  She also ranked second on the team in rebounding with 5.2 rebounds per game and assists, with a total of 41.  Giden also ranked third in steals (43), three-pointers made (27) and free-throw percentage (.738).

Giden was Western Michigan’s top scorer in 14 games and the Brown and Gold’s leading rebounder in eight.  She will enter her junior year for the Lady Broncos just 195 points away from being the 22nd Bronco to score 1,000 points after finishing this season with a total of 433.

During the 2009-10 season, Giden was also acknowledged with an all-tournament team nod at the James Madison Invitation on Dec. 30, 2009.  In addition, Giden was also named MAC Player of the Week twice.

The Lady Broncos finished the season with an overall record of 9-21 and 4-12 in conference play.
