The No. 6 Western Michigan Broncos defeated CCHA rival, Ferris State, 3-1, in Big Rapids, Mich. Friday night.
WMU got goals from freshmen Colton Hargrove and seniors Trevor Elias and tri-captain Dane Walters.
The Broncos held the Bulldogs to only five shots in the final two periods.
Sophomore Frank Slubowski made 19 saves on the night on his way to earning the second star.
WMU will go for their second consecutive sweep Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
