WMU (5-2-0, 2-1-0-0) gave up only 12 shots the entire game to the Falcons in route to a dominating victory. Dane Walters, Chase Balisy, and Kenney Morrison each added a goal as Frank Slubowski stopped 11 shots.

"I liked our structure, I liked our energy," WMU Head Coach Andy Murray said after the game. "Our theme tonight was structured energy. We needed to have energy, but we needed structure, and I thought we did have that."

Walters opened up the scoring with 5:58 remaining in the first period after Falcon goalie Andrew Hammond gave up a rebound from a shot by Dennis Brown.

The Falcons looked to score early in the second period on a power-play, but it was Balisy who came up with a short-handed goal after Jordan Oesterle broke up a pass and sailed it towards Walters who found Balisy.

"I saw we had the puck, so I just took off there, and Dane made a great pass, and I just snuck it short-side," said Chase Balisy, a Nashville Predators draft pick.

Bowling Green got on the board just over two minutes later and Bryce Williamson deflected a puck that pin-balled its way past Slubowski.

WMU freshman defense man Kenney Morrison scored his first collegiate goal of his career on  a Bronco power-play in the third period. Brown recorded his second assist of the night on the play.

"I think we had a bad taste in our mouth after that game at Notre Dame on Sunday, so we had a lot of motivation to do well," said Brown.

WMU takes on Bowling Green in Bowling Green on Saturday in the second game of the home-and-home series.
