Senior forward Dane Walters was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Postgame Offensive Player of the Week for his performance this past weekend against Ferris State University.
Walters had two power play goals on Friday night, a WMU 4-2 victory, including the game-winner. During Saturday’s game, Walters assisted Chase Balisy on the game-tying goal with 4:08 left in the third period.
On the season, Walters has six goals, tied for the team lead with Balisy, all coming in conference play. Walters leads the No. 7 Broncos with 12 points. During last year’s CCHA championship run, Walters tallied a team high 16 goals and finished the season with 29 points.
