While most students are satisfied with Jimmy Johns or Taco Bell, more courageous students may want to venture off-campus for a new experience in Kalamazoo cuisine.
With money in short supply all around, one cannot in good conscious drop $50 on a nice dinner for two.
Behold, hidden throughout Kalamazoo are havens for cash-strapped students with adventurous taste buds. One just has to find them.
Old Burdick’s Bar and Grill

The restaurant features a student menu for plenty of modestly-priced dining options from queso dip to chicken broccoli alfredo, and drinks are half-off every Sunday for anyone of age.
With their College Package and NFL Sunday Night Ticket, one can never miss a game on Burdick’s 70-inch high definition TV. Sunday and Wednesdays are Burdick’s most popular nights, so come hungry.

With live music, tasty food, and cheap drinks, Kalamazoo’s first brewpub caters to the college crowd. Their happy hour specials boast $3 pints and a wide selection of $4 liquors, from Absolute and Jack Daniels to Captain Morgan and Bacardi.
