Is there no way out of the mind?
—Sylvia Plath

No, not really. There is no way out of the student’s mind, out of the worker’s mind, or even American’s mind.
Nothing seemed more discouraging than today as I sat in journalism class and had to read an article in the New York Times about job loss and the recession as an assignment.
I’m living in a state where the economy’s plummet is no news and there are imaginary billboards everywhere that show signs of it.
But, there are college loans I’m worrying won’t be there next year, I have had scholarships once pulled due to budge cuts and even if I get to graduate from college, will there be a job left for me?
It seems like we’re always falling, and we can get back up, but as leaders bicker and the election points more fingers to place fault rather than strong hand to prove heroism, I wonder, who will save the mind of America?
It’s the major concerns that have hit us all hard. I’m still paying off medical bills from a visit to the emergency room last fall and the new medical insurance that my parents have received isn’t so kind to a student’s budget. But I’m still grateful that I have insurance.
So no, there is no way out of the a mind, especially this one that worries constantly.
