While the cost of action will be great, I can assure you that the cost of inaction will be far greater.
— President Barack Obama in his State of the nation address to the country Tuesday evening.
It’s safe to say that President Obama has been one person who has been taking considerable action while in office so far. He clearly has a plan to help jump-start the economy and put confidence back into the hearts of Americans across the United States.
I’m still mystified as to how the stimulus plan will take form, however I have full faith that it will at least help the most-needed areas.
Instead of sitting back and waiting to see what happens, he has jumped in the driver’s seat and is attempting to steer the American people in the right direction. It seemed to me that in former President George W. Bush’s waining months of his presidency, he didn’t make any efforts to try and help us out of the recession.
Of course, Obama also speaks of “inaction” in his address. Perhaps he is stating that while the government is taking action, we as a nation should also try and help our country pull itself out of these troubled times.
We can’t sit back and wait for the economy to cure itself. We must keep on helping the government and try and maintain the same lives we have been living before the economy start heading south. It’s easier said than done, I know, but with a new president that is taking charge, there is reason for hope.
