Herald staff and readers share the love this Valentine’s Day

I first met Melanie working at Jimmy John’s (the one across from the Stadium). Our frequent work dance parties clued me in to her care-free spirit, the first thing that made me fall for her. Eventually we found we could get serious about things too, often chatting about more important matters while reading the paper in our down time. I was always too nervous to take it any further than a work crush until Valentine’s Day was approaching. I built up the nerve to ask her out and it all culminated in a Valentine’s date to Wing Heaven. After that she was sold. With Feb. 14 approaching again, it marks our one year anniversary and I’ve never been happier.
Melanie, here’s to you and all the special times we’ve had together thus far. I’ve already made the reservations for this Saturday.

Love,
Russ
