The largest flag ever flown in WMU's history was stolen late last week. The flag was originally raised up on Nov. 24, 2009.

Western Michigan University’s largest flag located at the corner of Howard Street and Valley Road was stolen late last week, according to an announcement posted on GoWMU.

A $300 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of the stolen 20 foot tall and 25 foot wide brown flag with a gold “W.” The hoist cord on the flagpole was also damaged late last week.

The stolen flag was raised by President John Dunn and students from the College of Engineering and the Western Student Association on Nov. 24, 2009.

Anyone with information is urged to call WMU DPS at (269) 387-5555 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
