WMU Hockey Adds New Goalie

Western Michigan announced that they have added goalie Lukas Hafner to their roster for the upcoming 2012-13 season.

Hafner, freshmen, has spent his last three seasons playing juniors. Hafner previously played in the NAHL, USHL, and the CCHL with the Cornwall Colts most recently. Last season with the Colts, Hafner played in 48 games, posting an impressive 2.11 gaa, .929 save percentage, and recorded five shut outs. Hafner also led his team to the CCHL Championship, only to lose in seven games.

The 6 ft 1, 205 pound netminder will join the outstaning goaltending WMU already has with senior Nick Pisellini and sophomore CCHA tournament MVP Frank Slubowski.

Hafner has a brother who plays defense for the Bowling Green Falcons and will wear the number 55.

The Broncos open up their season on October 6. with an exhibition game against Western Ontario at 7 pm.
