WMU closed due to weather

Cody Kimball
Director of Technology

Due  to the weather, WMU is closed for January 31. All classes and public events are cancelled for today, according to the Western Michigan University homepage. The closure is in effect for WMU’s main campus, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Grand Rapids locations.

The closure is issued as the effects of Winter Storm Magnus begin to be felt in Western Michigan.  The National Weather Service has placed Kalamazoo under a Lake Effect Snow Warning until Saturday. Magnus is expected to produce 8 to 14 inches of snow by Saturday. The storm may also produce 30 mile per hour wind gusts, and wind chill temperatures as low as 10 below zero for the next two days, according to the National Weather Service.
