Even though the resident halls will be closing on Dec. 12, offices on campus will remain open until Christmas Eve.
Cheryl Roland, executive director of University Relations said this is pretty typical, and that the university will close from Dec. 24 to Jan 2.
Campus will open on Jan. 4 and those who live in residence halls can move back on this day at 9 a.m. Classes for the spring semester will begin at 8 a.m. on Jan. 5.
Roland said those interested in checking basic dates can do so by using the WMU events calendar at wmich.edu/wmu/news/events.
Beginning Dec. 12 however, campus facilities will reduce operating hours. Areas of the Student Recreation Center and the libraries, will be running for a shorter time leading up to winter recess and immediately afterward, according to Roland.
Roland said that next week the university will begin posting an online schedule that shows pre-Christmas and post-New Year’s schedules for places like the SRC, computer labs, libraries, the book store, etc.
Roland said that the recreation center and the libraries have already posted their schedules online.
