The Merchandising Opportunities & Design Association, also known as MODA around campus, will be hosting their semiannual two day fashion show, this year titled, MODA presents: “The Color Theory” on April 13 and 14 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Kalamazoo at 8 p.m.
This year, the elite fashion group has increased their brand exposure, incorporated new intricacies of design and revamped their entire production similar to New York Fashion Week, according to their website. Also, this semester, the local university’s fashion group is aiming for excellence by providing its attendees with an upscale runway exhibition.
“The entire show is really cool because it follows the theme of color blocking,” said Mary Depoian, a junior at Western Michigan University and a MODA fashion designer whose work will be featured during the show.
MODA Presents: “The Color Theory” has been boasted about to be a fresh, simplistic, eclectic new concept, and is expected to be one of, if not the biggest fashion show that the organization has produced.
According to MODA, the runway show consists student designers from WMU’s apparel and textile program who have created garments for their collections to be featured during the event.
MODA presents: “The Color Theory” is open to the public; general admission tickets are $15 and $10 for students and can be purchased at www.MODAWMU.tix.com.
According to MODA, VIP tickets will be available for $25. VIP seating will include a VIP reception prior to the show at 6:30PM, front-row seating, hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary gift bag from MODA. VIP tickets can be reserved at modatickets@gmail.com.
