Update: Traffic has resumed along South Howard Street and Knollwood Avenue.

Students using South Howard Street and Knollwood Avenue will have to use an alternate route to campus today.

Knollwood Avenue, located on Western Michigan University’s Ring Road near the Western View Apartments, and Howard Street are closed temporarily from a ruptured gas leak at 8:19 a.m. near the Western View Apartments, according to the WMU Department of Public Safety.

There are expected delays in WMU Bronco Transit’s bus routes.

“Due to a gasline break, all Bronco Transit routes are being rerouted. There will be no stops at Western View nor at Miller Auditorium until further notice,” according to Bronco Transit’s website.
