Western Michigan University will welcome back old and new grad students with two days full of fun activities this week.
There will be entertainment, food and much more, according to a press release from the WMU News.
“[The grad fair] shows what we offer to students” said Dean Stapleton, Dean of Western Michigan University’s Graduate College.
According to a recent press release from WMU News, there will be several grad student services on campus from 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 located at the Bernhard Center’s North Ballroom. Representatives from the various departments will be available at the grad fair to introduce themselves and answer any questions the students or their families may have.
“It’s also a one stop convenience,” added Stapleton.
The One-Stop Convenience Center has been open all week to assist new students at all levels at WMU.
The press release also shows that The One Stop Convenience Shop also includes Bronco ID cards, financial aid, Sindecuse Health Center and much more.
All of these will be available in the Bernhard Center’s West Ballroom until 6 p.m. Thursday.
“It shows everything we offer but in one place. That way students don’t have to drive around campus,” said Dean Stapleton.
The activities will also continue into Friday, Sept. 7th from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday’s activities will be located in the parking lot at East Campus, between Walwood and East Hall, according to the press release.
Students planning on attending the event must register online prior to the event.
There is no cost for the event.
“The Graduate Student Welcome Festival is place where students can network and meet other grad students,” said Dean Stapleton. “It provides information to help them be successful on campus. We hope students come out and feel right at place as they continue their grad studies.”
