Western Michigan University students looking to teach have the opportunity to meet with schools looking for teachers next Monday.
The 22nd annual Education Career Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bernhard Center’s East Ballroom.
The fair will host 53 K-12 school districts from Michigan and across the country looking to hire teachers.
There will also be a school from Japan.
Ciji Gamble, graduate assistant and event coordinator, said that it is just like the larger Career Fair held in February.
Like the larger fair, Gamble suggested to dress in business attire and bring copies of resumés to hand out to employers.
In years past, Gamble said interviews have been held on site.
The event is open to students and the general public. No registration is required.
“With all the recent cuts and losses of positions, it would be a great opportunity for teachers who have lost their jobs,” Gabel said.
The Education Career Fair is sponsored by Career and Student Employment Services, MEEMIC Insurance Company, the College of Education and Human Development Dean’s office, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
