ISAAC, Interfaith Strategy for Advocacy and Action in the Community, is celebrating their 10th anniversary serving Kalamazoo’s community.
Saturday, March 24, ISAAC will be hosting their 10-year anniversary banquet at 5:30 p.m. in the Bernhard Center to commemorate the decade. Seating begins at 5 p.m.
David M. Kennedy, the keynote speaker of the event, is the author of “Don’t Shoot.” He has an approach that has “created a miracle in city after city: violence plummets, drug markets dry up and the relationship between the police and the community is reset,” according to a press release.
In 2012, ISSAC will recognize the following awards: Ally of the Year award-Kalamazoo Community Foundation, Founders’ Award-Sunnyside United Methodist Church, Elected Ally of the Year-State Rep. Sean McCann, ISSAC Leader of the Year (announced at the event), and Tenth Anniversary-Rev. Linda MacDonald and Dr. Larry Oppliger.
