The search for a dean continues for the Haworth College of Business as one of the two candidates withdrew days before his scheduled presentation.

Nicholas van der Walt, Ph.D., was scheduled to present today, Jan. 25, but notified the university that he would not be coming on Friday said Capt. Dave Powell, dean of the College of Aviation and head of the search committee.

Powell said that the Provost’s office will be contacting a search firm to begin looking for new candidates. Ajay Samant, Ph.D, the other candiate scheduked to speak this week, is still being considered, Powell said.

Samant’s presentation, scheduled for Jan 27., is postponed until other candidates are picked.

van der Walt withdrew because of valid personal reasons, Powell said.

“We are working as hard as we can to get it all accomplished before the semester is over.”
