Miller announces full 2013-14 season, releases subscription prices

Miller Auditorium announced both its 2012-13 Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series and its smaller Broadway Plus Series shows this morning, completing the line-up for the upcoming year of events.

The announcement comes on the heels of a previous release, which listed a quartet of high-profile shows–including “The Addams Family,” “Mamma Mia!,” Memphis” and “Million Dollar Quartet”–as entries in the PNC Broadway in West Michigan Series. The Broadway Plus Series adds both a modern favorite (“Rock of Ages,” fresh off a blockbuster film adaptation from last summer) and a Tony Award-winning classic (the 1964 Best Musical winner, “Hello, Dolly!”).

Subscriptions for both series are available prior to the release of individual tickets. A recent press release notches the charge for a PNC season pass between $112 to $204, “depending on seating preference.” In addition, the Broadway Plus Series can be added to the season pass for a small add-on charge, which ranges from $28 to $51.

“Mamma Mia!,” thanks to both a massively popular Original Broadway Cast run, a successful string of national tours and a recent blockbuster film, is one of the most well-known musicals in recent memory. Based on the songs of Swedish pop group, ABBA, the production tells the tale of a young bride-to-be and her attempt to figure out who her father is.

“Memphis” and “The Million Dollar Quartet” are more recent Broadway sensations. The former won the 2010 Tony prize for Best Musical, while the latter, which details a fateful 1956 recording session between Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, is just one of the latest successful musicals to re-purpose old hit songs as Broadway showstoppers. “Rock of Ages,” which glamorizes the hair metal scene of the 1980s, is another.

The Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series, meanwhile, will bring a range of comedy acts, novelty shows, classical music showcases and other forms of entertainment to Miller. Check below for a full list of events, dates and times.
