Getting to know… 3OH!3
How do you describe 3Oh!3? Crunk? Pop? Rock-n-crunk-pop?
Whatever they are, the two-piece outfit sure has energy. Their infectious dance/raps are so enthusiastic at their live shows, you’d have to experience it to know what I’m talking about.
Their vocals remain full and strong even after jumping and thrashing about a stage for an hour. So when I talked to 3Oh!3 member Sean Foreman, I wanted to know how they manage to bring such energy to each performance.
Here’s a bite-sized tidbit for you:
Alyssa Herter: Your performance is incredibly physical. When I saw you guys perform last year, all I could really think was, how do they maintain such strong vocals while jumping around the stage non-stop throughout the entire set?
I’m just wondering, is there any level of physical preparation that goes into that?
Sean Foreman: Yes. It’s – I mean, honestly, it does become, you know, become pretty physical. And at the end of the day, I mean, at the end of the show we’re so tired.
I don’t know. Honestly on my off time, I like to stay in shape, like I like to go for a run and stuff like that because I know these shows, they’re going to be so grueling.
But honestly, I like to share energy of the show, and us singing and stuff like that. It just kind of carries the way for us, like, running around.
And I think the way the vocals, you know, it’s – where there’s two of us and we kind of go back and forth, so it helps to catch our breath before we do the next line. So that always helps.
