Paas: Heat V. Bulls, and then there were two.

And then there were two.

After an exciting fourth quarter last night in Chicago, the Miami Heat came out victorious with a 83-80 victory that ended the series.  With the Heat’s dominance over both the Celtics and Bulls the question still remains, is this a championship caliber team in Miami?

Chicago Bulls Vs. Miami Heat, game five analysis

The Bulls hadn’t lost two games in a row since February. Now, the Bulls haven’t won a game since a week from last Sunday.
The Bulls have dropped three straight games to be down 3-1 in the series with the Miami Heat. Probably the worst part about this series is the fact that Chris Bosch maybe the soul reason the Bulls are on the brink of elimination.

First student sustainability survey results revealed

The results are in for Western Michigan’s University’s Office of Sustainability’s first student sustainability survey, which were revealed in a forum held in room 1220 of WMU’s Chemistry Building Tuesday night.

The forum was hosted by Matthew Hollander, the Office of Sustainability’s Coordinator of Sustainability Projects, and Zach Waas Smith, a senior majoring in environmental studies and urban regional planning.

Topping ceremony for the new Sangren Hall

A steel topping ceremony for the new Sangren Hall on Western Michigan University’s campus was held on Monday at the worksite for the building.

An evergreen tree was placed on the final beam for the top of Sangren Hall, along with an American flag and a WMU flag.

Kalamazoo Music Scene brings new opportunities for local artists

Since the advent of civilization the artistic individuals and scholars have gathered together and have created entire cultural movements out of what have become geographic landmarks for  those who were fortunate enough to be able to say “I was there.”  Now Kalamazoo may have the oppurtunity to become one of those places because of the Kalamazoo Music Scene.

Broncos softball season comes to a close with a 4-0 lose against Notre Dame

The Western Michigan University softball season comes to a close after falling to Notre Dame in the first elimination game of the NCAA Tournament.

Western lost, 4-0, against Notre Dame this afternoon after falling, 5-0, against Michigan the day before.

WMU lost to the number-one seed team which means they will face Notre Dame in the first elimination game Saturday May 21.

Greg Jennings Foundation announces third annual Football and Cheer Camp

Green Bay Packer wide receiver and Western Michigan University alumnus Greg Jennings will be in Kalamazoo to host a camp for girls and boys.

Jennings and The Greg Jennings Foundation have announced the third annual Football and Cheer Camp. It is open to anyone ages 8 to 18 and will be held at Kalamazoo Central High School, Apr. 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Western Michigan University softball fell, 8-3, to Ohio in the semifinal game on Saturday May, 14.

After 22-hours of weather delays the Broncos were unable to prevail against the Bobcats and fall into the consolation finals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

Mayor, Bobby Hopewell, to be receiving an award

Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell will be receiving the Tony Griffin Golden Word Award May 18 at Western Michigan University’s Fetzer Center at 5:30 p.m.

The Golden Word Award is presented to people or organizations who have shown excellence in communication efforts, said Tom Chmielewski, president of InterCom Kalamazoo.
