Did video really kill the radio star? What happened to the original MTV?

Did video really kill the radio star? What happened to the original

Is it just me, or does MTV suck now? Every time I turn on “Music
Television” I hope to see some music videos like in the good old
days of the network. But every time, I am not treated to music, but,
to some garbage show on the network.

“Is there no way out of the mind?”

“Is there no way out of the mind?”

Not my mind.

My mind is always in full gear. There is no way out of it.

Even in my sleep I’m worrying about work, my life, my relationships. The college mind is a sea full of anxiety.

Pistons on the right track as offseason winds down

By Adam Debrowski Western Herald As most of the summer’s free agents have been signed and a handful of less-than-stellar NBA players are now calling new cities their home, I can look at the Pistons and say (knock on wood) that they aren’t as far from contending as most would guess. Fans of other teams [...]

By Jon Stonehouse Managing Editor The rest of the world, especially the French, can finally celebrate— Lance Armstrong didn’t win the Tour de France this year. But is Alberto Contador really the same caliber of a winner as Armstrong? Ask him and he’ll say he’s better. He would say that. At a recent press conference [...]

Report from Malaysia: Three main streets and that’s it? Michigan on my mind

Report from Malaysia: Three main streets and that’s it? Michigan on my mind

When I moved to Kalamazoo three years ago and was shown around the city, which consisted of West Michigan, West Main, and Westnedge, gave me the shock of my life: three main streets and that’s it? I made a call back home to verify and, yes, daddy indeed told me that “there were only two of those main streets 28 years ago and that Meijer was on the other side of town.”

Sports thought for the day

Don’t get me wrong, I liked the Pistons’ signing of Charlie Villanueva, but I still think that five years was too long. This time, when I heard that they had signed Chris Wilcox Saturday night, I didn’t have much to complain about. The main reason was the contract length. Detroit inked Wilcox for two years [...]
